“It is not as if the president said he is willing to resume with peace talks after he talks to Joma Sison. What he said was the New People’s Army must first show humility,” sabi ni presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

“What he said the NPA must first show humility. And the possibility of a one-on-one meeting was proposed by the journalist and the president said, ‘One-on-one, maybe it's possible.’ But that is not a precondition for the resumption of peace talks.”

“It would indeed be a waste if we would not interface even once, considering the success of the four rounds of formal talks since 2016,” ani Sison.
