Trump umalis na, ‘di dumalo sa East Asia Summit

MANILA, Philippines — Napaaga ang alis sa Pilipinas ni US President Donald Trump sa kasagsagan ng ASEAN Summit sa Philippine International Convention Center at bigo na siyang dumalo sa itinakdang East Asia Summit kahapon.

Nabatid na dakong alas-3:15 ng hapon nang umalis ang Air Force One na kinalululanan ni Trump pauwi sa Estados Unidos mula sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). 

Sinabi ni Trump na si US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson ang naging kinatawan niya sa East Asia Summit subalit naihayag naman niya ang kanyang mensahe sa luncheon meeting na ibinigay ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para sa mga dumalong head of states sa 31st ASEAN Summit.

Una nang inihayag ng pamahalaan na mananatili si Trump sa Manila para sa ASEAN Summit at Related Summits ng Nobyembre 13-15 subalit sa hindi pa malinaw na kadahilanan ay napaaga ang alis nito.

Magugunita na nagkaroon ng bilateral talks sina Pa­ngulong Duterte at President Trump bago ang ASEAN-US Summit sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) kamakalawa. Dito, pinuri ng US President si Duterte sa matagumpay nitong pagiging host ng ASEAN Summit at nangakong lalong titibay ang relasyon ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos sa ilalim ng kanilang admi­nistrasyon.
