PDEA sa DILG: Narco-list ‘di galing sa amin!

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi sa amin galing ang listahan ng mga narco-politicians!

Ito ang mariing pagtanggi kahapon ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) kasunod sa pahayag ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) na sa kanilang ahensya nagmula ang listahan ng mga pulitikong sangkot sa illegal drug trade.

Ayon kay PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino, hindi totoo ang naging pahayag ni DILG Acting Secretary Catalino Cuy.

“The statement of DILG’s Cuy is not true since the list of narco-politicians is a product of Inter-agency Intelligence Task Force and not  PDEA alone,”  ani Aquino.

Ginawa ni Aquino ang pahayag sa gitna na rin ng pagpalag ng ilang mga mayor at gobernador na inalisan ng Napolcom sa pangunguna ng Chairman nito na si Cuy nang kapangyarihan sa pulisya dahilan umano sa pagkakasangkot sa illegal drug trade. Sa kasalukuyan, umaabot na sa 23 mayor at gobernador ang natanggalan ng “police power.”

Nabatid na noong Dis­yembre 2016, pormal na ipinasa sa PDEA ang narco-politicians list na hawak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte mula sa Office of the President. Sinasabing simula nang mabulgar ang mga narco-politicians ay patuloy ang ginagawang pagmomonitor at pag-update ng PDEA sa nasabing listahan kada buwan sa pamamagitan ng Inter Agency Validation Task Group na kinabibilangan ng PDEA, PNP, Directorate for Intelligence, Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) at National Intelligence Coordinating Agency. 

Ang Inter-Agency Validation Task Force ay itinatag noong Enero 2017 sa pamamagitan ng direktiba ng National Security Council; habang ang updated list ay isinusumite naman sa Office of the President kada buwan ng PDEA na siyang Inter-agency Validation Task Force Secretariat.
