Mga guro ayaw ituloy ang eleksyon sa 13 barangay ng NCotabato

MANILA, Philippines – Hindi pa nagsisimula ang botohan sa 13 barangay sa Pikit, North Cotabato matapos hindi sumipot ang mga Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) sa mga presinto dahil sa pangamba sa kanilang seguridad.

Ayon sa isang ulat, nakikipagpulong pa si election officer Joel Celis kaninang alas-10 ng umaga sa mga guro at tauhan ng militar at pulis.

Ibinasura ng Comelec ang kahilingan ng mga guro na gawin ang halalan sa town center na sinuportahan pa ng mga resolusyon mula sa 13 barangay.

"These resolutions were rejected by Comelec Manila," banggit ni Celis. "So election must be held in the barangay and not at the town center as teachers and village officials wanted it to be."

Samantala, sinabi ni Superintendent Noel Kinazo, deputy director for operations ng North Cotabato provincial police office, na hinigpitan na nila ang seguridad sa mga presinto ngunit ayaw pa rin pumayag ng mga guro.

“The Army and PNP personnel are already in the area, we have secured the voting centers but still they prefer to hold the election in the town center,” sabi ni Kinazo.

“Time element is of precious importance for the voters and everyone here…sayang ang oras, the Comelec has to decide,” dagdag niya.
