Jodi gumawa ng sariling film outfit para sa kaibigan

Bawat filmmaker ay nangangarap gawin ang kanyang dream project. At kapag may duma­ting na fairy godmother, parang Cinderella story ang dating.

Iyan ang kuwento kung paano nabuo ang The Boy Foretold By The Stars na kinatatampukan nina Keann Johnson at Adrian Lindayag. Ang pelikula ay ang tanging boys love rom-com sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 na magsisimula na sa ika-25 ng Disyembre.

Matagal nang assistant director at producer ang writer-director ng pelikula na si Dolly Dulu. Ilang taon niya ring pinangarap na gawin ang The Boy Foretold By The Stars, dream project niya na base sa sariling high school love story.

Habang may break sa taping ng iWant mini-series na My Single Lady, nabanggit ni Dolly ito kay Jodi Sta. Maria at na-excite raw ang aktres. Ani Dolly, “Nagkukuwento lang ako kay Jodi sa tent… I think naka-relate siya sa situation ko. Kasi she really waited for a long time before where she is now.”

Hindi na kinailangan kumbinsehin ni Dolly ang aktres. Pumayag si Jodi ang ibang bumubuo ng Clever Minds, Inc., na suportahan ang directorial debut ni Dolly. “She wanted to help me realize my dreams. Hindi siya madamot. Kung kaya niya magbigay, magbibigay siya,” banggit ni Dolly tungkol kay Jodi.

“She also wants to give jobs to other people and help the people in our industry.”

Martin at Pops, tanda pa ang mga ginawang kawirduhan

Tandang-tanda pa ni Martin Nievera kung kaylan sila unang nagsama ulit ng ex-wife na si Pops Fernandez sa isang concert matapos ang hiwalayan nila in 1996. Ayon sa Concert King sa zoom mediacon para sa reunion tv show nila na eXes and whYs, taong 2004 daw nang magsama ulit sila on stage.

“2004, it was Maxi-media, Felix Co, Anna Puno who said, ‘why don’t you guys do a reunion? Of course, we were like ‘grrrr’, at that time, we were still a little bit (estranged), you know,” kwento ni Martin.

Pero na-realize rin daw nila na bakit hindi since dati naman daw nila itong ginagawa. “It’s something that we do well together, we may have failed in diffe­rent areas of our lives,  but for some reason, the moment you put the lights on, you give us the microphone and turn on that camera, we just seem to jive so well and it’s just so natural,” he said.

At natuloy nga ang reunion concert na talaga namang naging super successful to the point na nagkaroon pa ng US tour. At doon nga nila nalaman na nando’n pa rin ang magic nila as tandem at hindi nawala.

Para naman kay Pops, aminado siyang very stressful sa kanya ang reunion concert na ‘yun. May time raw na nagso-show sila sa Barcelona pero hindi sila nag-uusap. “We did our rehearsing, we were not talking. And then, the moment we went on stage, it was like nothing happened and we were the best of friends again,” sey ni Pops.

Sey naman ni Martin, “so weird” at pag-ayon naman ni Pops, “it was really the weirdest.”

Not only that, pagre-recall ni Pops, all of a sudden ay nag-usap daw sila on stage about how they felt in front of the people at napaiyak pa raw siya.

Kinailangang pagdaanan nina Pops and Martin ang mga mahihirap na pinag­daanan nila through the years at ngayon nga ay masasabing napakaganda na ulit ng relasyon nila bilang magkaibigan kung saan naman sila talaga nagsimula.

Kaya naman sobrang kumportable na nila doing a talk show again just like the old times, when they were doing The Penthouse Live kung saan nga nagsimula ang kanilang love story. But what’s more interesting with eXes and whYs, it will be directed by their eldest son, Robin Nivera.
