Andrea muntik-muntikan di mag-showbiz

Did you know, Salve A., na nagmuntik-muntikan nang ‘di ituloy ng ngayo’y very promising 16-year old actress na si Andrea Brillantes ang childhood dream niyang maging artista?

Ito’y dahil sa hindi siya pumasa nang mag-audition sa isang role para sa pelikula kasama ang kanyang mother.

Andrea was 13 when she was entrusted the title role in the drama series, Annaliza. There was no turning back for her, henceforth.

Para sa kanya, most challenging ang kanyang role bilang member ng now popular Gold Squad, kasama sina Francine Diaz, Seth Fidelin at Kyle Echarri sa top series na Kadenang Ginto.

“I play a kontrabida kasi,” ani Andrea. “And I love it.”

May upcoming movie si Andrea, ang The Ghosting kung saan katambal niya for the first time si Khalil Ramos. Ito rin bale ang kanyang first movie with Reality Entertainment directed by new director Joey de Guzman.

Aiko sanay na kay Wendell

Bago ang kanyang serye sa GMA 7 na Prima Donnas, huling napanood si Aiko Melendez kasama si Maja Salvador para sa teleserye for ABS-CBN, ang Wildflower.

“In fairness” ani Aiko, “GMA offered me a project na before Prima Donnas.

“But as is common knowledge, I became busy helping my boyfriend (now Zambales Vice Governor Jay Khonghun) in his then pangangampanya.

“And it’s just as well, dahil natupad ko ang pangarap kong gumanap bilang kontrabida dito sa Prima Donnas.

“And a kontrabida to the max, I am, as aapi-apihin ko dito ang tatlong young stars na gaganap na Prima Donnas, sina Jillian (Ward), Althea (Ablan) at Sofia (Pablo).

“Bonus na ang direktor ng series ay si Gina Alajar,” susog pa ni Aiko.

Ito rin bale ang ‘reunion’ nila ni Wendell Ramos. Marami na silang pinagsamahang mga proyekto at dati silang alaga ng isang talent manager, the late Douglas Quijano.

Kaya, magkakilalang-magkakilala raw silang dalawa, dugtong pa ni Aiko.

Dennis mas mabuting manahimik tungkol kay Julia

Talking of sinusuwerte, there’s no doubt, that luck is on the side din ni Dennis Padilla, where his showbiz career is concerned.

Gumaganap siyang leading man nina AiAi delas Alas at Rufa Mae Quinto in the currently showing And Ai Thank You, directed by Joven Tan.

He is in the soon-to-be released Viva Films’ Sangano, Sanggago at Sangwapo, kasama sina Andrew E., Janno Gibbs, Louise delos Reyes, Cindy Miranda, Vanessa Wright, with Al Tantay directing.

Of the controversy involving his daughter Julia Barretto, Gerald Anderson at Bea Alonzo, mabuti ay nanahimik na si Dennis.

At the rate things are going, magtatapos na ang issue, since busy na lahat ng kumbaga, lead cast na involved.

Parehong busy sina Gerald at Julia sa palaro na magaganap among the Star Magic talents sa Araneta Coliseum ngayong August.

May teleserye din na gagawin si Gerald with Nash Aguas, among others. Ganun din si Julia na tinatapos ang movie niya with Joshua Garcia for Black Sheep, ang Block Z.

Of Bea, magiging busy siya sa series at pelikula na parehong si Richard Gutierrez ang gaganap na leading man.

Of Julia, the girl, at her age, seems to know how to handle herself, lalo’t may kinalaman sa controversies involving her love life and showbiz career.

Articulate rin siya, both in English and Tagalog, kaya naipapaliwanag niya ang gusto niyang sabihin ng walang problema.

Kaya, wish mo na lang Dennis si Julia to, kumbaga, keep herself on the ground.
