YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

Because Star Cinema’s managing director, Malou Santos, felt the year 2015, indeed, ended with a bang for the film firm, sa tremendous success of almost all of its productions, particularly of course, the still showing A Second Chance, which is to say, the least, making box office history, she believes it’s but fitting and proper that a thanksgiving mass, followed by a party  should be organized.

She had the mass held at the Star Cinema office, which Father Tito Caluag officiated.

Ginanap naman ang party sa Timog Avenue na in-organize ng Star Creatives which Malou also heads.

Star Creatives produces the top ABS-CBN series, Pangako Sa ’Yo and You’re My Home.

It was a well-attended party. And everyone just enjoyed it. Lalo’t ang mga empleyado, who went home, kumbaga, victorious, since they won sa raffles, bukod pa sa iba’t ibang pakulo, tulad ng Star of the Night Search and mga performances cooked up by several of the employees.

Besides Malou and Direk Olive Lamasan, Vice President for Creative, other important guests included ABS-CBN big bosses, Cory Vidanes at Carlo Katigbak.

In the V.I.P. (very important people) table, seated, too  were Leo Katigbak, head ABS-CBN Restoration Board, Ruel Bayani, TV and movie director, also Business Unit head ABS-CBN, and Enrico Santos, movie and TV director, too, and head of the newly organized, New Media.

Nasa said table din sina Angie Pineda at Dory Jacila ng Star Cinema Booking Department. And of course, Len Raymundo, another ABS-CBN executive.

Namataan din namin si Direk Erick Matti, Maricel Samson, head production, Elma Medua, Marivic Ong and Lea Camerino, producers, at Carmi Raymundo, member, Creative team, and one of the two writers (the other one is Vanessa Valdez) of A Second Chance.

Nagkaroon ng musical numbers, courtesy of Star Music, which Malou also heads, at ang mga umawit ay sina Kyla, KZ Tandingan at Morisette.

Perla hindi naniniwala sa hula

Senior actress Perla Bautista, like Rayver Cruz, is another addition to the cast of the series, All Of Me, which topbills Albert Martinez, Yen Santos, Neri Naig, Aaron Villaflor, Ana Capri and Yam Concepcion, among others.

Gaganap siya bilang manghuhula, which, according to Perla, is a first for her.

In her 40 years something bilang artista, ngayon lang daw siya pumapel na manghuhula.

E, naniniwala ba siya sa hula?

“Minsan,” sagot niya. “Pero, mas pinahahalagahan ko kung may ipinagdarasal ako at hinuhulaan kong pakikinggan ako ng Diyos.”

Good health for herself and her family ang madalas daw ipagdasal ni Perla.

Speaking of Albert (Martinez), he can hardly wait daw to become a grandpa. Yes, at 54 years old.

Christmas this year will be the “usual” for him and his children. Alyanna, Alfonso and Alyssa.

For the first time raw, they will be celebrating the special day minus wife Liezl, who died early this year.

They might all go out of town daw.

Cathy Mora recalls, when we bumped into her a birthday party ng aming common friend na si Karen Martinez, na isa sa pinaka-memorable niyang ginawa ay ang Topo Topo Barega, which teamed her up with Niño Muhlach.

That was the time na na-link sila sa isa’t isa.

She appeared in Puto, too, with now Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

May ginawa rin daw siyang movie with Phillip Salvador na may titulong Kapag Puno na ang Salop, Part 3, with FPJ, Eddie Garcia and Janno Gibbs.

Now retired from showbiz, Cathy is single mom to her 14 year-old daughter.
