Sinulat na kanta ni Marion biglang sikat dahil kay Kathryn

The niece also rises may well describe the slow but, definitely, steady ascend ni Marion Aunor both as a singer and a composer and writer.

No need to tell you that Marion is the niece of Nora Aunor. Her mom, Lala Aunor, herself made a name both as singer at artista.

Lala was a member ng sikat noong Apat na Sikat in the late 80s and early 90s. Magkasabay silang pinasikat ng noo’y sikat na TV host and performer, the late Ike Lozada.

While she had for her ka-love team, Arnold Gamboa, now a hotel executive, kapareha ni Winnie Santos, nakababatang kapatid ng still kinikilalang Star for All Seasons and current Batangas Governor, Vilma Santos Recto, si Eddie Villamayor, nakababatang kapatid naman ng Superstar na si Nora Aunor.

While Eddie abruptly quit showbiz, pinalitan siya ni Bong Morales bilang kapareha ni Winnie.

Winnie and Bong later became husband and wife. They later decided to leave for the U.S. and raised a family there.

Kaput na ngayon sina Winnie at Bong, na parehong nasa U.S. pa rin. Ganundin si Lala, from her husband, Daddy ni Marion at nag-iisa niyang kapatid na babae.

Now a successful businesswoman and owner of a condo building in Parañaque City, Lala said she raised her two kids all by herself.

She requested Marion to finish college first, bago ito pumalaot sa pag-awit, na noon pa pangarap ng kanyang panganay.

Marion finished a course in Business Administration sa Ateneo de Manila University, bago siya nag-decide mag-join sa Himig Handog Competition ng 2013.

Her composition, If You Ever Change Your Mind, which she sung herself, emerged third place.

Dahil nanalo siya , naging contract talent din siya ng Star Records, the recording and music department ng ABS-CBN.

It was, according to Marion, no less than Roxy Liquigan, head of Star Records, who suggested that she writes songs for their young recording talents.

From the composition na kanyang naisulat, tatlo ang napili ni Roxy, the song, You Don’t Know Me, which Roxy assigned Teen Showbiz Queen Kathryn Bernardo to record.

Hindi raw akalain maging ni Roxy at mga iba pang namumuno ng Star Records na aani kaagad ng kasikatan ang awitin, when disc jockeys started playing the song all over the radios.

Kaagad nag-trending din ito.

“I was overwhelmed sa naging reaction sa song among the listeners.

“Nakakatabang-puso at nakaka-inspire,” ani Marion.

Gusto rin ba niyang kantahin at i-record ang You Don’t Know Me?

“Not, perhaps, now. Aware yata akong malaking factor na si Kathryn ang umawit, kaya umani ito ng tremendous success na tinatamasa nito ngayon.

To add more, wika nga, sa overwhelming feeling na ninanamnam niya sa kasalukuyan, is the report meron siyang nominations niyang nakuha sa upcoming 27th Awit Awards: best performance by a New Female Recording Artist (for her composition, Sex on Legs), and best musical arrangement (Do Do Do).

Will Marion, just like her auntie (Nora) and mother (Lala) join the acting world, both TV and movies?

“If eventually, I’m given the chance, why not?

“But as of now, allow me na namnamin ang kung anumang grasyang  bigay ng Diyos sa akin.

“I just cannot thank, Him, especially, enough,” susog pa ni Marion.

Well, keep up the good work, Marion.
