MANILA, Philippines — Mula sa detention facility ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa Muntinlupa City ay nailipat na nitong Miyerkules sa Metro Manila District Jail sa Camp Bagong Diwa sa Taguig City si dating Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr.

Kinumpirma ni NBI Director Judge Jaime Santiago na ito’y matapos matanggap nila ang dalawang commitment orders mula sa Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 12 at Branch 51 na ikulong si Teves sa nasabing pasilidad.

Magugunita na hindi pinagbigyan ni Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 51 Presiding Judge Merianthe Pacita Zuraek ang urgent motion ni Teves na manatiling nakapiit sa NBI facility, sa kautusan na may petsang Hunyo 9, 2025.

“We cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that accused Teves Jr. was able to flee to another country prior to his eventual repatriation, more than a year after the case was filed. This court cannot take the chance on a flight risk such as the accused himself,” saad sa kautusan.
