33-libong pulis boboto sa ‘absentee voting’

MANILA, Philippines — Tinatayang nasa 33,000 pulis ang inaasahang boboto nang maaga para sa midterm elections matapos na simulan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang local absentee voting (LAV) kahapon na tatagal hanggang  bukas, Abril 30.

Kahapon ay pina­ngunahan ni PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil ang LAV para sa 2025 mid-term elections kung saan bumoto siya sa PNP Multi-Purpose Center sa Camp Crame, Quezon City. 

“We are not just enforcers of democracy -- we are part of it. Voting is not only our right; it is our duty, and one way we show our love for our country,” ani Marbil.

Bingyan-diin ni Marbil sa mga tauhan ang kanilang karapatang bumoto sa kabila ng kanilang tungkulin.

Tiniyak din ni Marbil sa publiko na handa na sila sa pagbibigay ng seguridad at res­ponde sa mga voting precints. Aniya, mas pinaigting na nila ang checkpoints, chokepoints, at pagpapatrolya upang maiwasan ang anumang karahasan at pananabotahe sa halalan.
