MANILA, Philippines — Sa gitna ng mataas na demand sa passport services ay nagbabala ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa publiko laban sa advertisements na lumalabas sa social media na nag-aalok ng passport appointment slots at peke o tampered na appointment documents.

“We want to assure the public that ten temporary satellite offices will be opened very soon to create additional passport appointment slots,” ayon kay DFA Undersecretary Brigido Dulay.

Sinabi ng DFA na nakapaglalaan sila ng 13,000 passport appointment slots kada araw bago pa ang COVID-19 pandemic, ngunit pumatak na lang sa 6,100 slots kada araw dahil sa restriksyon sa venue capacity.

Sinabi rin na ang consular offices sa loob ng malls ay nagbawas ng operasyon dahil sa ipinatupad na enhanced community quarantine at modified enhanced community quarantine sa NCR Plus area noong Marso at Abril kaya magbubukas umano ang ahensiya ng 10 temporary satellite offices sa lalong madaling panahon.

Nais nilang masiguro na ang bubuksang sampung temporary satellite offices ay bubuksan para makapagdagdag ng passport appointment slots.
