Duque humirit ng dagdag na P10-B badyet sa 2021
MANILA, Philippines — Humihirit si Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ng dagdag P10 bilyong pondo para sa Department of Health’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) ng Universal Health Care (UHC) law.
“We sent a letter to the Honorable Speaker [Alan Cayetano] with regard to our request of augmenting the approved budget on HFEP with an additional P10 billion,” giit ni Duque.
“We are requesting this to address the concerns of several members of Congress on additional support for improving the infrastructure of our hospitals, rural health units, LGU hospitals, health care facilities, as well as military hospitals, especially that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the functionality of our infrastructure and implementation of UHC law,” dagdag pa nito.
Nagsumite si Duque ng P45 bilyong budget proposal nitong Hulyo ngunit P4.7 bilyon ang naapruba.
Ilalaan ang 38.9 bilyong pondo para sa implementasyon ng UHC law mula sa P169 bilyong pondo ng DOH.
Ayon naman kay DOH Undersecretary Mario Villaverde, mayroong 58 na probinsya at highly urbanized cities ang nasa listahan ng UHC integration sites ng 2021.
