Pangulong Marcos, Pacman special guest sa GenSan BP

MANILA, Philippines — Sina Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. at bo­xing icon Manny Pacquiao ang mga magiging special guest sa opening ceremony ng 2025 Batang Pinoy National Championships sa General Santos City sa Oktubre.

Kilalang malapit sa mga atleta ang Presidente, habang ipinagmamalaki ng GenSan ang kanilang ‘anak’ na si Pacquiao na nag-iisang world eight-division champion.

Humigit-kumulang sa 15,000 batang atletang may edad 17-anyos pababa ang inaasahan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na lalahok sa 2025 Batang Pinoy na nakatakda sa Oktubre 25 hanggang 30 sa GenSan.

“I want to improve the grassroots program and give the kids an international feeling. Now, you can see, we have all these preparations ahead, we want to give them a national feel in the games,” ani (PSC) chairman R­ichard Bachmann kahapon sa Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa conference hall ng Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Nakasama ni Bachmann sina PSC officials Rachel Dumuk, Caroljne Tobias, Dindin Urquiaga, Gloria Quintos at Roselle Destura sa programang inihandog ng San Miguel Corporation, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, Smart/PLDT at 24/7 app ArenaPlus.

Matagumpay na naisa­gawa ng PSC ang 2024 Batang Pinoy sa Puerto Princesa City, Palawan noong Nobyembre.

Kabuuang 27 sports ang inilatag para sa 2025 edition na kinabibilangan ng aquatics-swimming, archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball (3x3), boxing, chess, cycling, dancesport, futsal, gymnastics, jiu-jitsu, judo, kickboxing, karate, muay, pencak silat, sepak takraw, soft tennis, tennis, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling at wushu.

Samantala, tumanggap ng Quality Pro mark mula sa FIFA, ang international football body, ang bagong gawang football field ng PSC sa RMSC na inayos ng E-Sports International.
