House and lot ng Paris medalists sa Tagaytay ibinigay na

MANILA, Philippines — Opisyal na ibinigay ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino kina Paris Olympics double gold medalist gymnast Carlos Yulo at bronze medalists Aira Villegas at Nesthy Petecio ang susi ng kanilang mga bahay sa Tagaytay City.

Ang nasabing house and lot ay matatagpuan sa Prime Peak Town House subdivision sa Barangay Silang Crossing West.

“They deserve these homes, they’re not only our Olympic heroes, all of them are national treasures,” sabi ni Tolentino na Mayor din ng Tagaytay City.

Ibinigay ni Tolentino kay Yulo, kumuha ng ginto sa men’s floor exercise at vault gold sa Paris, ang isang 500-square meter, two-storey home.

“I’m very grateful and feeling blessed to receive this house-and-lot and I’m on thankful how the POC helped us in our Olympic preparations in Paris,” wika ni Yulo sa house blessing na pinamunuan ni Fr. Eugenio Lopez.

Ang house-and-lot—ayon kay POC secretary-general Atty. Wharton Chan ay nagkakahalaga ng P15 milyon—ay isang belated birthday gift mula kay Tolentino, Tagaytay City at POC para kay Yulo na nagdiwang ng ika-25 kaarawan noong Pebrero 16.

Ang two-storey home ni Villegas sa isang 200-meter lot sa parehong village ay kagaya ng ibinigay kay Petecio na nauna nang pinagkalooban ng house and lot katulad nina Tokyo Olympics medalists Hidilyn Diaz- Naranjo, Carlo Paalam at Eumir Felix Marcial—sa Barangay San Jose para sa pagsuntok sa silver medal sa Tokyo 2020 Games.

May sariling bahay ang weightlifter na si Diaz-Naranjo sa Tagaytay City sa Isabel Heights sa Barangay Kaybagal Central mula rin kay Tolentino para sa pagbuhat sa kauna-unahang Olympic gold medal ng bansa sa Tokyo Games.

“This is what we’ve been doing since I became POC president—to keep the athletes inspired to win more medals for our country,” wika ni Tolentino.

Tiniyak ni Villegas na uuwi siya sa Tagaytay City sa tuwing may break sa kanyang training sa Baguio City at kung hindi siya maka­kabisita sa Tacloban City.

Nagdsesiyon naman si Petecio na tirhan ang bago niyang bahay.
