Pinay Spikers ibubuhos ang lahat sa AVC Challenge Cup

MANILA, Philippines — Bagama’t gahol sa preparasyon ay gagawin pa rin ng Alas Pilipinas women’s volleyball team ang lahat para manalo sa 2024 AVC Challenge Cup na magsisimula bukas sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Vito Cruz, Manila.

Ito ang pangako ni team captain Jia De Guzman sa ipapakita ng mga Pinay spikers sa torneo na may nakatayang tiket para sa 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Challenger Cup sa Hulyo.

“We’re all individually strong, skill-wise, we just need to get used to playing with each other so we’ve been doing a good job,” ani De Guzman na naglaro para sa Denso Airybees team sa Japanese league.

Kasama ni De Guzman sa tropa sina PVL stars Eya Laure, Sisi Rondina, Vanie Gandler, Dell Palomata, Cherry Nunag, Fifi Sharma, Faith Nisperos, Jen Nierva at Dawn Catindig.

Sasalang din sina collegiate standouts Angel Canino, Thea Gagate, Julia Coronel at Ara Panique.

“We have a very solid lineup and I’m positive that our players will do their best in this tournament,” wika ni Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara.

Kasama ng Alas Pilipinas sa Pool A ang Australia, India, Iran at Chinese Taipei habang nasa Pool B ang defending champion Vietnam, runner-up Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Singapore at Hong Kong.

Unang lalabanan ng Alas Pilipinas ni Brazilian coach Jorge Souza de Brito ang Australia sa Huwebes kasunod ang India sa Biyernes, ang Iran sa Sabado at ang Chinese Taipei sa Linggo.
