Gaston makakatulong sa Philippine sports — Bachmann
MANILA, Philippines — Malaki ang maitutulong ng eksperyensa ni dating PBA player at Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Commissioner Matthew “Fritz” Gaston sa Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
Si Gaston ang bumuo sa PSC Board bilang ikaapat na Commissioner kasama sina chairman Richard Bachmann at Commissioners Olivia “Bong” Coo, Walter Torres at Edward Hayco.
“Commissioner Gaston’s extensive experience and leadership in the field will certainly be an asset towards our goal of providing the most we can for our Filipino athletes, from the grassroots level up to the elite,” ani Bachmann.
Noong Biyernes ay nag-report na si Gaston sa kanyang opisina sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Manila matapos iluklok ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, Jr. noong Marso 24.
“My family, they are happy for me because they’ve always rooted for me for sports, and they know I’m a sportsman,” wika ni Gaston. “Even if I worked in a corporate, alam nila na love ko talaga yung sports.”
Naglaro si Gaston para sa national youth basketball team noong 1977 at naging coach ng national women’s basketball team na nagwagi ng bronze medal noong 2007 Southeast Asian Games sa Nakhon Ratchasima City sa Thailand.
