TNT ‘di uurungan ang Meralco sa serye

MANILA, Philippines — Walang itulak-kabigin sa lakas ng TNT Tropang Giga at Meralco.

Ayon kay TNT interim coach Jojo Lastimosa, halos pantay lamang ang kanilang puwersa ng Meralco mula sa import hanggang sa mga local players.

“I think we have enough length to match up with them. We have enough big guards to match with their big gaurds as well,” wika ni Lastimosa sa pagsisimula ng best-of-five semifinals series ng Tropang Giga at Bolts ngayong alas-5:45 ng hapon sa 2023 PBA Go­vernors’ Cup sa Ynares Center sa Antipolo City.

Sinibak ng No. 1 TNT ang No. 8 Phoenix, 132-105, samantalang itinakas ng No. 4 Meralco ang 113-107 overtime win sa quarterfinals para plantsahin ang kanilang semifinals showdown.

Muling aasahan ng Tro­pang Giga sina import Ron­dae Hollis-Jefferson, Mikey Williams, Roger Pogoy, Jayson Castro, Calvin Oftana at ang nagbabalik na si Poy Erram, habang itatapat ng Bolts sina reinforcement KJ McDaniels, Chris Newsome, Aaron Black, Allein Maliksi at Cliff Hodge.

Sa unang laro sa alas-3 ng hapon ay pag-aagawan din ng nagdedepensang Ba­rangay Ginebra at San Mi­guel ang 1-0 bentahe sa ka­nilang semis duel.

Pinagbakasyon ng No. 3 Gin Kings ang No. 6 NLEX Road Warriors, 127-93, samantalang tinagpas ng No. 2 Beermen ang No. 7 Converge FiberXers, 121-105, sa kanilang mga quarterfinals games.
