Ex-NBA players gigiya sa Strong Group

MANILA, Philippines — Masusubukan ang angas nina ex-NBA players Nick Young, Shabazz Muhammad at Renaldo Balkman bilang lider ng Strong Group sa paglarga ng 32nd Dubai International Basketball Championship sa Al-Nasr Club Hall ngayon.

Malaki ang inaasahan ng Philippine contingent sa NBA trio para sa misyong maduplika ang kampeonato ng Mighty Sports noong 2020 bago ang pandemya sa gabay ni coach Charles Tiu.

Si Tiu, coach din ng College of St. Benilde sa NCAA, ang magmamando sa koponang pagmamay-ari ni dating Ateneo guard at Converge assistant ma­nager Jacob Lao.

Sa tulong nina Nick Young, Shabazz Muhammad at Renaldo Balkman ay umaasa ang Strong Group na makukumpleto ang misyon kasama ang mga  Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sa Middle East.

“We’re looking forward to playing different international teams and we’re excited to showcase our talents for our fans in Dubai and we hope we can live up to their expectations and defend the crown that we came here for,” wika ni Lao.

Makakaakbay ng tatlong NBA reinforcements si­na Jerom Lastimosa ng Adamson, NCAA MVP Will Gozum at dating Japan B.League player Justine Baltazar.

Swak din sa koponan sina Miguel Ogzon, JD Cagulangan, BJ Andrade, Inand Fornillos, Sedrick Barefield, Francis Lopez at Kevin Quiambao na kapalit ni Gilas Pilipinas at Ateneo anchor Ange Kouame.

Pagkatapos ng UAE team ay makakaharap ng Strong Group ang Al-Wahda ng Syria.
