Marinero vs La Salle para sa D-League crown

MANILA, Philippines — Kumamada si CJ Austria ng 19 sa kanyang 26 points sa first half para tulungan ang EcoOil-La Salle sa 97-74 pagsibak sa Adalem Construction-St. Clare sa ‘do-or-die’ Game Three papasok sa 2022 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Finals kahapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Tinapos ng Green Archers ang kanilang best-of-three semifinals duel ng Saints sa 2-1 papasok sa best-of-three cham­pionship series katapat ang Marinerong Pilipino Skippers na nagpatalsik sa Apex Fuel-San Sebastian Golden Stags, 69-64.

“The boys just played really hard today and the things we were supposed to do last time around, we did it right today,” ani coach Derrick Pumaren.

Ito ang unang Finals appearance ng  EcoOil-La Salle sa developmental ranks habang ikalawa naman para kay Pumaren na gumiya sa Centro Escolar University sa second place noong 2019 Aspirants’ Cup.

Sa ikalawang laro,  umiskor si Juan Gomez de Liaño ng walong puntos sa huling tatlong minuto ng fourth quarter para sa 66-62 bentahe ng Marinero kontra sa Apex Fuel-SSC sa huling 52.4 segundo.

“It was really all about our team mindset,” ani Gomez de Liaño na tumapos na may 23 points para sa Skippers.
