Puwede nang mag-bubble training ang iba pero....

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi lamang ang national teams ng boxing, taekwondo at karatedo ang maaaring magsagawa ng kanilang ‘bubble’ training sa ibang lugar.

Sinabi ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) National Training Director Marc Velasco na kailangan lamang ng mga National Sports Associations (NSAs) na may mga atletang sasabak sa 2021 Olympic Games qualifying tournaments, na lumapit sa kanila.

“What they can do is just to plan a specific protocol, not the standard one kasi it has to be venue specific, iyong number of people na specific na protocol,” wika ni Velasco. “There are a few other sports na interested, so we’ll just gonna sit down with them.”

Ang mga NSAs ng boxing, taekwondo at karatedo ang humiling sa PSC na pumasok sa isang ‘bubble’ training sa Inspire Sports Academy sa Calamba, Laguna.

Magkakasunod na pumasok sa nasabing venue ang mga national boxers, pinamumunuan ni Olympic-bound Irish Magno, taekwondo jins at karatekas.

Kasama ni Magno sa ‘Calambubble’ si 2019 AIBA World Women’s Championships gold medalist Nesthy Petecio at ang 26 pang miyembro ng national boxing team, habang may anim ang karatedo at lima ang taekwondo.

“The (medical) team is prepared. Lahat kami hands on, on deck kasi this is the first undertaking by the Philippine Sports Commission and we’ll be prepared and ready for all scenarios,” wika ni Velasco.

Pinili naman ni Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez, ang pangulo ng Philippine Fencing Association (PFA), na sa kanyang lugar ilagay ang training camp ng national fencing squad sa loob ng isang ‘bubble’.

Maliban kay Magno, ang tatlo pang Pinoy athletes na mayroon nang Olympic ticket ay sina boxer Eumir Felix Marcial, pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena at gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo.

Si Marcial ay kasalukuyang nagsasanay sa United States habang nasa Italy at Japan sina Obiena at Yulo, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
