9-katao positive sa coronavirus

MANILA, Philippines — Mabibitin ang mga Pinoy football fans dahil inihayag ng Philippine Football League (PFL) ang pagpapaliban ng pagsisimula ng kanilang torneo sa Carmona, Cavite sa Linggo matapos magpositibo ang limang booters sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Isa rin sa idinahilan ng PFL ay ang inaasahang pagragasa ng bagyong ‘Quinta’.

“Five players and one coach tested positive in the RT-PCR tests conducted on 21 October 2020. They had to be isolated,” nakasaad sa official statement ng PFL. “Further tests were conducted on those with close contacts on these persons last Saturday, 24 October 2020 and three returned positive.”

Ang nasabing mga players at isang head coach ay kasama ng kanilang mga koponan sa loob ng PFL ‘bubble’ sa Santa Rosa, Laguna.

“We have anticipated this scenario hence there is a set of health and safety protocols in place for incidents such as this,” wika ni league commissioner Coco Torre.

Ang PFL ang ikalawang professional league sa bansa na pinayagan ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) na magbalik-ensayo patungo sa pagdaraos ng kanilang torneo sa loob ng isang ‘bubble’.

Inaasahan naman ni Philippine Football Federation (PFF) General Secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes na masisimulan ng PFL ang kanilang naantalang season sa mga susunod na araw.

“We understand the current situation and with participants’ strict compliance with bubble-specific protocols, we hope to push through with kickoff in a few days,” ani Gastanes.
