MANILA, Philippines — Bagama’t lumutang na ang pinaplantsang boxing match nina Manny Pacquiao at mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor ay hindi ito basta-basta maaayos.

Sinabi kahapon ni John Kavanagh, ang chief trainer ni McGregor, na marami pang posibleng mangyari kapag nasimulan na ang seryosong negosasyon para sa sinasabing bakbakan sa 2021 sa Dubai.

“I believe both boxers have agreed fundamentally,” ani Kavanagh sa panayam ng Boxing Productio­ns­TV. “Now, behind the scenes, there’s a lot of terms and conditions, and legal teams and managers (that) have to work out the fine details.”

Kapwa kinumpirma ng mga kampo nina Pacquiao, ang world eight-division champion, at Mcgregor, ang dating UFC two-division titlist, na may nangyayari nang negosasyon para sa natu-rang boxing fight.

“I believe it will happen. When exactly, I’m not sure. I think it might be early next year. But yeah, the wheels are in motion, and it looks like I’m going to be coaching boxing again,” ani Kavanagh.

Ayon sa kampo ni Pacquiao, ang prize money sa nasabing laban ay ibibigay ng fighting senator sa mga Pinoy na naging biktima ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Nauna nang nilabanan ni McGregor si Floyd Mayweather, Jr, na tumalo sa kanya via tenth-round TKO noong Agosto 26, 2017 sa Las Vegas, Nevada.
