PBA binigyan ng ‘green light’ ng IATF

MANILA, Philippines — Dumaan muna sa butas ng karayom ang Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) bago nakuha ang provisional approval ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) sa pagdaos ng scrimmages at practice games bilang paghahanda sa pagbabalik ng Season 45 sa Oktubre 11.
“We are happy, we are ready,” sabi kahapon ni PBA chairman Ricky Vargas ng TNT Katropa. “The players are ready to go. It’s all now in the hands of the Commissioner (Willie Marcial) to see this plan executed to perfection.”
Ayon kay Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) president Vince Dizon, ang deputy chief implementer ng national task COVID-19, dapat maging mahigpit ang PBA sa kanilang ipapatupad na health at safety protocols.
“Testing protocols are more stringent. Kahit nasa bubble itself, regular pa rin ang testing and monitoring,” wika ni Dizon. “They will use the Stay Safe app in terms of monitoring their symptoms”
Ang Quest Hotel ang titirhan ng PBA habang idaraos naman ang mga ensayo at laro sa Angeles University Foundation Gym.
Matapos ang panalo ng nagdedepensang San Miguel laban sa Magnolia sa pagbubukas ng 2020 Philippine Cup noong Marso 8 ay inihinto ito matapos ang tatlong araw dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Para mabilis matapos ang torneo sa Disyembre 15 o 18 ay magsasagawa ang liga ng dalawang laro araw-araw.
“We will start our double-headers at 4 p.m. and will allot an hour for disinfection,” sabi ni Marcial na idinagdag na papatawan ng multang P100,000 ang sinumang lalabag sa protocols.
Bibiyahe ang 12 koponan patungo sa Clark sa Setyembre 28 at 29 kung saan sila sasailalim sa COVID-19 testing at sa 24-hour quarantine period.
