Negatibo sa COVID-19 ang 3 SMC teams
MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ng San Miguel Corporation (SMC) na negatibo ang lahat ng kanilang players sa tatlong Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams sa COVID-19 matapos ang kanilang isinagawang testing kamakailan.
Sinabi ni SMC president at chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang na kabilang ang mga players ng San Miguel Beermen, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok sa 70,000 workforce ng kumpanya kasama ang mga third party providers sa mga sumailalim sa covid test bilang preparasyon sa muling pagbubukas ng kanilang mga pasilidad sa buong bansa.
“We are happy to report that all of our basketball players tested negative from the virus,” sabi ni Ang na nagdesisyong gumawa ng PCR-testing facility at laboratory sa loob mismo ng compound ng kumpanya para hindi na makadagdag sa dami ng tini-test sa mga government testing facilities.
“We defer to the government’s wisdom and decision on when team-based leagues like the PBA will return especially if people’s lives are at stake. While we all miss the PBA, we need to first create a safe environment to limit the spread of the virus,” ayon pa kay Ang.
