PBA Press Corps Awards Night ‘di tuloy

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi muna tuloy ang naka-iskedyul sanang PBA Press Corps Awards Night ngayong gabi sa Novotel Manila sa Araneta City sa Cubao bunsod pa rin ng lumalalang sitwasyon ng COVID-19 outbreak.

Alinsunod ang desis­yon na ito ng media ins­titution sa pag-suspinde ng PBA ng 2020 PBA Philippine Cup, PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup gayundin ng PBA 3x3 Inaugurals dahil sa pagdeklara ng State of Public Health Emergency at pagsailalim sa “community quarantine” ng buong Metro Manila.

“The decision to reschedule the event at a later date is to ensure the health and safety of the awardees, guests, friends, and members of the working press,” anang PBA PC sa opisyal na pahayag.

Pararangalan sana ng PBA PC sa kanilang ika-26 pagdiriwang ang pinakamagagaling na manlalaro at coaches sa nakalipas na 44th Season.

Igagawad sa Awards Night na suportado ng Cignal TV ang Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan Coach of the Year award na pinaglalabanan nina Leo Austria ng San Miguel at Tim Cone ng Barangay Ginebra.

Inanunsiyo na rin ng PBA PC ang iba pang awardees na sina June Mar Fajardo (Order of Merit), CJ Perez (Sco­ring Champion) gayundin sina Thirdy Ravena at Hesed Gabo bilang D-League Finals MVPs.

Kasali rin sa bibig­yang-pugay ang All-Interview Team na sina Kiefer Ravena, Christian Standhardinger, Vic Manuel, Arwind Santos, Beau Belga at Coach Yeng Guiao).

Sinamahan naman nina Ray Parks Jr., Javee Mocon, Abu Tratter at Robert Bolick si Perez sa All-Rookie Team.

Wala pang inanunsyong petsa kung kailan ililipat ang Awards Night subalit nagpahayag na ng pasasalamat ang PBA PC sa Novotel, sa mga manlalaro, coaches at fans sa pag-intindi ng kanselasyon ng Awards Night.

“The PBAPC assured Novotel it will hold the event at such time when the situation norma­lizes as per the parameters set by the government through the Department of Health,” pagtatapos ng organisasyon.
