Dancesport team malaki ang pasalamat sa PAGCOR
MANILA, Philippines — Sa pagdedeliber ng 10-gintong medalya sa katatapos lamang na 30th Southeast Asian Games, malaki ang pasasalamat ng Phl Dancesport Team sa Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR) na siyang sumuporta sa kanila.
Ang tagumpay ng apat na pares-- Sean Mischa Aranar-Ana Leonila Nualla (3 golds), Wilbert Aunzo-Pearl Marie Cañeda, (3-golds) Mark Jayson Gayon-Mary Joy Reginen (2-golds, 1-silver) at Michael Angelo Marquez at Stephanie Sabalo (2 golds, 1-silver) para tanghaling overall champion ng dancesport competition ang Pinas na bunga ng kanilang training sa Italy na sinuportahan ng PAGCOR.
“All our four couples who dominated the Dancesport’s Standard and Latin categories benefited from PAGCOR’s aid. We were able to send them to Italy to attend a rigid dance training as part of their preparations for the SEA Games,” ani Dancesport Council of the Philippines (DSCPI) President Rebecca Garcia sa victory party na ginanap sa Rizal Park Hotel kahapon.
Bukod sa training sa abroad, nagsanay din ang mga mananayaw ng Pinas sa ilalim ng Polish coach na si Alina Nowak, isang certified world dancesport champion at Alexander Melnikov, isang Russian dancesport athlete at adjudicator na nagsanay sa Phl dancesport team dito sa Pinas bago ang SEAG.
“We could not have done this without PAGCOR. Every year, DSCPI sends athletes abroad to compete in international dancesport events. Our aim here is not only to win but to give them the international exposure that they need,” ani Garcia.
Tiwala naman si PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo sa kakayahan ng mga Dancesport athlete kaya sinabi niyang muli nilang susuportahan ang mga ito para sa Asian Games kung maisasama ang dancesport.
“We’ve already ask the DSCPI to prepare their plans for training for the whole year next year next year so we can pre-sent it to the board,” sabi ni Domingo. “We believe that dancesport has a potencial of winning gold in the Asian Games.”
Ang suporta ng PAGCOR sa Philippine Dancesport ay hiwalay sa suporta ng ahensiya sa Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). CBV
