Sports Nutrition para sa mga kababaihan

MANILA, Philippines — Gumawa ang Herbalife Nutrition ng perso-nalized nutrition and sports performance programs base sa goals at iba’t ibang pangangailangan ng mga atletang kanilang sinusuportahan sa buong mundo sa tulong ni Dr. Dana Ryan, ang Director Sport Performance and Education ng Herbalife Nutrition.

“All athletes, including women, have different body types that require unique nutritional needs. Overcoming the cultural stereotype that women in sports should be skinny is important, not only from an ethical point of view but also from a nutritional one. Female athletes have particular nutrition needs, and it’s important to address them properly,” ani Ryan.

May tatlong payo si Ryan sa mga kababaihan: iwasan ang caloric restriction, tamang protein intake at manatiling hydrated.

Hindi kailangang bawasan ng mga atleta ang calories dahil kailangan nila ng proper nutrition para sa kanilang workout. Kapag kaunti ang calories kumpara sa nabu-burn nila sa pagwo-workout, naaapektuhan ang kanilang performance at health.

Marami ang umiiwas sa protein sa takot na tumaba ngunit ang totoo ay kailangan ng sapat na protina para lumakas ang muscles.

Habang nagwo-workout, kailangang uminom ng maraming fluids na may electrolytes gaya ng sodium, potassium, magnesium at calcium para mapalitan ang mga kemikal na ito na nawala sa katawan habang nagwo-workout at carbohydrates para ma-supplay-an ang muscles ng glucose na kailangan para mamintena ang peak performance.
