Thurman niyayabangan si Pacman
MANILA, Philippines — Paulit-ulit na tinatawag ni Keith Thurman si Manny Pacquiao na isang ‘legend’ ngunit sa kanilang press conference kahapon sa New York City ay ipinagyabang ni Thurman na siya ang tuluyan nang magpaparetiro sa Filipino world eight-division champion.
“I’m happy to be sharing the ring with a legend like Manny Pacquiao, but for those who know boxing times change. I believe boxing has come to a new era. Floyd (Mayweather Jr.) is gone, Pacquiao is here, come July 20th he will disappear, OK?” ani Thurman.
Ngunit hindi bilib si Pacquiao sa 30-anyos na American world welterweight titlist.
“I’ve never been scared of a challenge,” wika ni Pacquiao kay Thurman. “I’m so excited for this fight against an undefeated champion. He’s the kind of fighter that you can’t underestimate. His record and success gives me more motivation to work hard.”
Kasalukuyang nagdadala si ‘Pacman’ ng 60-7-2 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 39 knockouts kumpara sa 29-0-0 (22 KOs) card ni Thurman, ang World Boxing Association welterweight titlist.
Magtutuos sina Pacquiao, may hawak ng WBA ‘regular’ welterweight belt at Thurman para sa kanilang WBA ‘super’ welterweight championship showdown sa Hulyo 20 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kagaya ng kanyang mga nakaraang laban, hindi nagbigay ng anumang prediksyon si Pacquiao kung saang round niya pababagsakin si Thurman.
