Beermen at Hotshots bakbakan sa Game 7

MANILA, Philippines — Sa best-of-seven title series ng San Miguel at Mag­nolia ay wala pang na­­kakapagtala ng back-to-back wins.

Inangkin ng Hotshots ang Games One, Three at Five, samantalang nagwagi ang Beermen sa Games Two, Four at Six patungo sa Game Seven ng 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.

Ayon kay one-time PBA MVP Arwind Santos ng nagdedepensang San Miguel, magiging ma­halaga sa kanila ang execution ng game plan nila laban sa Magnolia.

“If you take a look at it, mayroon din silang championship expe­rience and they’ve proven themselves. Talagang sa effort na ito magkakatalo,” wika ni Santos matapos ang 98-86 panalo ng Beer­men sa Hitshots sa Game Six noong Linggo. “Kung sino ang mas gustong manalo, kung sino ang mas-focused, sila ang kukuha ng Game Seven.”

Magtutuos sa kahuli-hulihang pagkakataon ang San Miguel at Mag­no­lia ngayong alas-7 ng ga­bi sa Smart Araneta Co­liseum.

Puntirya ng Beermen ang kanilang pang-li­mang sunod na All-Filipino Cup, habang hangad naman ng Hotshots ang back-to-back title matapos maghari noong 2019 PBA Governor’s Cup.

Sina Santos, five-time PBA MVP June Mar Fa­jardo, Alex Cabagnot, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, Terrence Romeo at Christian Standhardinger ang muling aasahan ng San Miguel katapat sina Paul Lee, Ian Sangalang, Mark Barroca, Rafi Reavis at Jio Jalalon ng Magnolia.

“We have a chance to grab it, and the guys are surely going for it,” wika ni Beermen coach Leo Austria.

Mula sa Game One ay tumayo nang underdog ang Hotshots sa serye.

“For as long as there’s a chance, we’ll try to take it,” ani Magnolia mentor Chito Victolero.

Naipanalo ng San Mi­guel ang dalawang Game Seven sa PBA Finals ng Philippine Cup noong 20­15 at 2016.
