4-teams umpisa na ang bakbakan sa semis

MANILA, Philippines — Apat na koponan ang mag-uunahang makalapit sa finals slot sa paglarga ng best-of-three semifinals ng 2019 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix ngayong hapon sa The Arena sa San Juan City.

Unang magtutuos ang F2 Logistics at PLDT Home Fibr sa alas-4:15 ng hapon kasunod ang bakbakan ng nagdedepensang Petron at Cignal sa alas-7 ng gabi.

Nakasentro ang atensiyon sa Blaze Spikers na nakasakay sa 15-game winning streak kabilang ang straight-set win sa Sta. Lucia Realty sa quarterfinals.

Solido ang laro ng Petron sa pangunguna nina American imports Ste-phanie Niemer at Katherine Bell ngunit pinuri rin ni Petron coach Shaq Delos Santos ang matikas na inilalaro ng local players para suportahan ang kanilang reinforcements.

Partikular na gumagawa para sa Blaze Spikers sina Mika Reyes, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Frances Molina, Denden Lazaro, Rhea Dimaculangan at Remy Palma na malaki ang kontribusyon para sa tropa.

“I’m very happy with them (Bell and Niemer). They have been very professional and can easily adjust anytime. But I also tell our local players not to rely on our imports. That’s why I’m so happy to see them respond and deliver the goods, whether on offense or on defense. This winning run is truly a total team effort from the girls,” ani Delos Santos.

Mapapalaban ang Blaze Spikers dahil desidido ang HD Spikers na madungisan ang kanilang rekord.

Pinataob ng Cignal sa quarterfinals ang United VC na nagdala pa ng bagong import sa ngalan ni Thai superstar Sutadta Chuewulim.

Kabisado na nina Cignal imports Erica Wilson at Ana Artemeva ang sistema ng laro sa Pilipinas at gamay na rin ng dalawa ang laro ng kanilang local players na sina Rachel Anne Daquis, Janine Navarro, Jheck Dionela at national team member Mylene Paat.

“I think we have already found the right formula entering the semifinals. If they are ready, we are also ready. We have already studied all possible attack options and made some adjustments defensively,” ani Cignal coach Edgar Barroga.
