P3.5 bilyon sports facility sa Pangasinan inaprubahan ni Duterte
MANILA, Philippines — Natupad na ang matagal nang hinihintay ni Philippine Sports Commission chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez matapos lagdaan ni Pa-ngulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Republic Act 11214 o ang “Philippine Sports Training Center Act” noong Pebrero 14 para sa pagpapatayo ng isang state-of-the-art sports training facility.
“To promote and develop sports in the country, to achieve excellence in international sports competitions, to ensure success in the country’s quest to achieve competitiveness in the Olympic Games and to promote international ami-ty among nations.”
Ginawa ang ceremonial signing ng naturang RA sa Malacañang Palace kasama si Ramirez at iba pang PSC officials.
“We at the PSC are extremely grateful to the President for making this historic development in Philippine sports happen,” wika ni Ramirez.
Ang tinutukoy na pa-silidad ni Ramirez ay ang 20-hectare sports hub na itatayo sa Rosales, Pangasinan sa 2022.
Ito ay pagtatayuan din ng administrative, sports science, medical at dormitories para sa mga atleta at coaches pati na sports amenities para sa 39 Olympic at non-Olympic sports.
Naniniwala si Ramirez na ang pagkakaroon ng modernong sports training center ang magpapalakas sa kampanya ng mga national athlete sa mga lalahukang international competitions kagaya ng Olympic Games, World Championships, Asian Games at Southeast Asian Games.
“This facility can become a reality to be able to provide our athletes more fighting chance in their competitions with an upgraded training faci-lity,” dagdag ni Ramirez.
Gagastos ang pamahalaan ng P3.5 bilyon para sa pagpapatayo ng nasabing training center sa Rosales, Pangasinan.
Ang nasabing pondo ay isasama sa taunang General Appropriations Act para sa sports commisison.
“We will be hands-on in overseeing the operation and construction of the PSTC,” dagdag ni Ramirez.
Pinaghahandaan ng mga atleta ang darating na 30th SEA Games.
