Arum duda sa Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch
MANILA, Philippines — Duda si Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions na matutuloy ang rematch nina Manny Pacquiao at Floyd Mayweather, Jr. sa Disyembre.
Ito, ayon kay Arum ay dahil sa pagdaraos ng college football championship games at isang mabigat na UFC card sa nasabing buwan.
“I have no idea if it will happen. I think with Floyd it’s all about money. I can’t see them doing the fight this year; they will probably do it next year,” wika ni Arum sa panayam ng CBS Sports.
Sa kanilang pagkikita sa isang music festival sa Tokyo, Japan ay nagkausap ang 39-anyos na si Pacquiao at ang 41-anyos na si Mayweather.
Pumayag si Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) na muling labanan si Mayweather (50-0-0, 27 KOs) sa Disyembre.
Wala nang magiging problema ang Filipino world eight-division champion dahil sa kanyang pag-alis sa Top Rank ni Arum at pagtatayo niya ng sariling MP Promotions nang labanan si Lucas Matthysse noong Hulyo sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
May Mayweather Promotions naman ang American world five-division titlist.
“I knew that they were thinking about it,” wika ni Arum. “With Manny, it’s about the money and the problem is they have to get a good place outside the United States because otherwise it’s a problem with the IRS.”
Noong Mayo ng 2015 ay tinalo ni Mayweather si Pacquiao via unanimous decision.
Limpak-limpak na salapi ang parehong kinita nina Mayweather at Pacquiao sa kanilang super fight.
