Romero sa Phl Asian Gamers: Gawing inspirasyon si Manny
MANILA, Philippines — Naniniwala si Rep. Mikee Romero (1Pacman Partylist) na magtatagumpay ang mga Filipino athletes sa mga major international com-petitions kung magsasanay at lalaban sila kagaya ni boxing idol Manny Pacquiao.
Ito ay matapos mapanood ni Romero ang panalo ng fighting senator mula sa Gen. Santos City kontra kay Lucas Matthysse ng Argentina sa kanilang world welterweight showdown noong Linggo sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“Our athletes in the coming Asian Games in Indonesia should know the true meaning of focus, sacrifice and discipline because these were ingredients used by Sen. Pacquiao to make a big comeback,” wika ni Romero.
Nanood si Romero mula sa ringside kasama si AirAsia big boss Tony Fernandes.
Sinabi ni Romero na ang seventh round stoppage win ni Pacquiao ay dapat maging inspirasyon hindi lamang ng mga Asian Games-bounds athletes kundi pati ang mga gustong manalo sa kani-kanilang mga sports.
“Our Asian Games-bound athletes still have one month to prepare like Sen. Pacquiao did. They should be inspired and motivated to fight like him,” ani Romero. “Despite his hectic sked as a public servant, Sen. Pacquiao was fully focused to the task at hand.”

“If you don’t have the discipline like what Sen. Pacquiao showed during his training, one is bound to fail,” ani Romero. “He and his team did lots of sacrifices for this fight. Truly admirable is Sen. Pacquiao’s discipline,” dagdag pa nito.
