Pelicans tinakasan ang Celtics

BOSTON – Hindi nagpapigil sina power forward Anthony Davis at DeMarcus Cousins sa kanilang pagdomina sa shaded lane para tulungan ang New Orleans Pelicans na takasan ang Cel-tics sa overtime, 116-113.

Kumolekta si Davis ng 45 points at 16 rebounds, habang humakot si Cousins ng 19 markers at 15 boards para sa Pelicans.

Nagwakas naman ang seven-game winning streak ng Celtics at nalasap ang una nilang kabiguan ngayong 2018.

“It was a great win for us. They tested us,” wika ni Davis, humataw ng 48 points sa panalo ng New Orleans kontra sa New York Knicks noong Linggo.

Nagdagdag si Jrue Holiday ng 23 points at nakipagtulungan kina Davis at Cousins sa iniskor na 12 points sa overtime para sa Pelicans.

“They kept worrying about me so much diving to the rim, Jrue was able to hit them little midrange jumpers. He kind of took over that overtime for us and got some separation for us,” ani Davis.

Nag-ambag si Ian Clark ng 15 points para sa New Orleans.

Pinangunahan ni Kyrie Irving ang Boston sa kanyang 27 points, 24 nito ay kanyang kinamada sa second half kung saan sila nakabangon buhat sa 12-point deficit at kunin ang five-point lead sa dulo ng regulation.

“For some reason tonight, the whole game we were a little careless. It just carried over there at the end,” ani Celtics center Al Horford, nagtala ng 14 points at 9 rebounds. “We thought we had it. It just got away from us.”

Tumipa sina Marcus Smart at Jaylen Brown ng tig-16 points para sa Boston, naglista ng season-high na 50-attempts sa three-point line para  tapatan sina Davis at Cousins sa shaded lane.

Nagsalpak si Horford ng triple sa pagbubukas ng overtime para sa 107-106 abante ng Celtics na pinalobo nila sa 113-110.

Nagsalpak ng jumper si Cousins para idikit ang Pelicans sa 112-113 agwat kasunod ang dala-wang basket ni Holiday para selyuhan ang kanilang panalo.
