Hatton nasasabik na rin sa Pacquiao-Mayweather fight
MANILA, Philippines - Bukod kay dating world welterweight king Timothy Bradley, Jr., hindi na rin makapaghintay si dating world light welterweight titlist Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton na mapanood ang banggaan nina Manny Pacquiao at Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Ayon kay Hatton, na-talo kina Pacquiao at Mayweather, matagal nang naghihintay ang mga boxing fans sa buong mundo na maitakda ang laban ng dalawang premyadong boksingero.
“More whispers that it could be happening,” sabi ni Hatton sa super fight nina Pacquiao at Mayweather. “It’s a bit pathetic, personally, to be honest with you.”
Ayon kay Hatton, pinatulog ni Pacquiao sa second round noong Mayo 2, 2009, isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit hindi matuloy ang naturang laban ay dahil sa pera.
“You think they would just go, as far as the money goes, 50-50. But this one wants 51% and you get 49% ... unbelievable. The reason that you go in to boxing is to become the best,” ani Hatton, ngayon ay isa nang promoter.
“I fought the pair of them and they won’t fight each other.”
Pinabagsak ni Mayweather si Hatton sa tenth round noong 2007.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank Promotions na ayaw lamang ni Mayweather na madungisan ang malinis niyang boxing record kaya ayaw nitong labanan si Pacquiao.
“To get Mayweather in the ring with Pacquiao is a monumental task. Not because of splits, not because of money, because Manny stands the best chance of anybody that Floyd has face to beat him,” sabi ni Arum sa panayam ng World Boxing News.
Halos limang taon nang pinipilit na maplantsa ang super fight ng 35-an-yos na si Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) at ng 37-anyos na si Mayweather (47-0, 26 KOs).
