Ang karaniwang impeksiyon ng diarrhea ay dahil sa virus.

Ang bacteria ay mula sa hindi maayos na paghahanda o pagluluto ng pagkain na pinagsisimulan ng food poisoning.  Iwasan muna ang high-fiber gaya ng ilang gulay, prutas, o ibang pagkain na magpapataas ng tsansa na lalong makaramdam ng pagiging bloated.
