Anak ni Cherie Gil, inaming rare form of endometrial cancer ang kinamatay

Nagpasalamat ang pamilya ni Cherie Gil sa mga nakiramay sa pagpanaw ng mahusay na kontrabida sa pamamagitan ng isang statement na inilabas sa social media ng anak ng si Raphael Eigenmann Rogoff.

“Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who expressed their concern for Cherie during this difficult time.
“It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce that Cherie passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 5th, at 4:48 a.m. EST after a brave battle against cancer,” umpisa ng statement ng pamilya ni Ms. Cherie.  

“Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October of last year after deciding to relocate to New York City to be closer to her children. She then underwent treatment at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York.”

At desisyon nitong maging pribado ang kanyang sakit.

“It was her request that her diagnosis be kept private, and as a family we supported her in this decision. Cherie fought bravely against her illness, with grace and strength. Despite her struggles she always managed to exude courage and never lost her trademark sass, wit, and infectious humor, or her larger-than-life personali­ty. She spent her last days surrounded by family and loved ones.”

Dagdag pa sa nasabing statement na : “While we are deeply saddened by our loss and still mourning her passing, we are incredibly moved by the outpouring of love and support for her and our family; evidence of just how many lives Cherie touched.  

“If you have any photos, videos, memories, messages or regards, please send them to [email protected] so we can view them in our own time privately in the spirit of her original wishes, while also celebrating her life, work and legacy.

“In the end, there are no words – only love. Cherie lived with all her heart.
“Always in ours: Cherie Gil Eigenmann Rogoff (June 21, 1963 – August 5, 2022).”

Sana ay matuto ang mga ibang artista sa nangyari kay Ms. Cherie na walang nakaalam at hindi ginamit ang social media upang pag-usapan ang personal na buhay.

Namaalam siya nang buo ang dignity at pagiging class.

Tulad sa mga sinusulat niya, kailangan niya ng dialysis, twice a week, 4-hour per session.

May pagkakataon na gusto na niyang tumi­gil sa pagpapa-dialysis pero sinabi ng kanyang mga doctor na kailangan niya ‘yung gawin.

Nagpapasaya sa kanya sa kasalukuyan ang mga dumarating na regalo sa tuwing pupunta siya sa hospital para magpa-dialysis.
