Nilabas na ng Miss Universe ang eight all-women members of the selection committee para sa taong ito. Kasama rito ang dalawang past title holders.

Miss Universe 1997 Brooke Lee of the United States and Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico ang mga pipili sa magiging successor ni Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa.

Kasama sa panel of judges sina Canadian television host Keltie Knight, American actress Arden Cho of the series Teen Wolf and entrepreneurs Christine Duffy and Deepica Mutyala.

Colombian economist Tatyana Orozco and Sheryl Adkins-Green, an American marketing executive, completed the list of the selection committee.

Sa May 16 (May 17 in Manila) ang coronation night ng Miss Universe in Hollywood, Florida.

Scarlett galit sa Golden Globe

Nakiisa ang Black Widow star na si Scarlett Johansson sa pag-step back sa events ng Hollywood Foreign Press Association or HFPA, ang press organization sa likod ng Golden Globe Awards.

Nasa gitna ng kontrobersiya ngayon ang HFPA dahil sa issues of lack of diversity (specifically no Black members) and ethical questions related to financial benefits to some of its 87 members na isiniwalat ng Los Angeles Times last February.

Dahil sa kontrobersiya, umatras na ang NBC na i-broadcast ang awards night in 2022.

Naglabas din ng kanyang statement si Scarlett:

“As an actor promoting a film, one is expected to participate in awards season by attending press conferences as well as awards shows. In the past, this has often meant facing sexist questions and remarks by certain HFPA members that bordered on sexual harassment. It is the exact reason why I, for many years, refused to participate in their conferences.

“The HFPA is an organization that was legitimized by the likes of Harvey Weinstein to amass momentum for Academy recognition, and the industry followed suit.

“Unless there is necessary fundamental reform within the organization, I believe it is time that we take a step back from the HFPA and focus on the importance and strength of unity within our unions and the industry as a whole.”

Nakiisa rin si Tom Cruise sa pagsaoli sa HFPA ng tatlong Golden Globe Awards na napanalunan niya for Jerry Maguire, Born on the 4th of July and Magnolia.

Pauline, binilinan ni John

Best gift para sa Kapuso actress na si Pauline Mendoza ang pagkatiwalaan siya ng GMA na magbida sa teleserye na Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat.

Thankful si Pauline na sa two weeks na natitira sa kanilang teleserye, marami siyang natutunan sa kanyang co-stars na binubuo ng veteran at mga baguhang artista.

‘Di raw niya malimutan ang payo sa kanya ni John Estrada na gumaganap na ama niya sa te­leserye. “Sabi sa akin ni Sir. John, ‘Marami ka pang pagdadaanan. Six years is just six years, konti pa lang yan. You need to be brave, you need to be strong as an actress, kailangan talaga ilabas mo ‘yung passion mo, mahalin mo ‘yung trabaho mo. Kasi, ‘pag hindi mo mahal ‘yung trabaho mo, ‘di mo e-enjoy-in mahihirapan ka.’

“Ako ngayon, minamahal ko ‘yung trabaho ko dito sa showbiz industry,” diin ni Pauline.
