Pang-millennials ang movie na ire-release soon ng Viva Films, titled Squad Goals #FBois, and with direk Mark Meily at the helm.
In a talk we had with direk Mark sa presscon ng Squad Goals #FBois, binanggit niyang somehow inspired ito ng pelikulang Bagets na nagpasikat kina Aga Muhlach, Herbert Bautista (now Quezon City Mayor), J.C. Bonnin (isa nang Pastor), Raymond Lauchengco, at William Martinez.
Feeling daw ni direk Mark, itong genre ng pelikula ang matagal nang nami-miss lalo na ng mga henerasyon ngayon. Nabalitaan daw niya ang magandang reaction ng millennials na nakapanood ng restored version ng May Minamahal, which starred Aga and Aiko Melendez and filmed 25 years ago.
Parehong mga bata pa sina Aga at Aiko when they did May Minamahal, which had direk Joey Javier Reyes at the helm.
Of Bagets, the film was also a production of Viva Films, na ang nagdirek ay ang kamamatay na director na si Maryo J. delos Reyes. The late Jake Tordesillas wrote the story and screenplay of Bagets.
Bagets emerged a blockbuster and likewise, created a new trend in showbiz.
Well, wish ni direk Mark na ganito rin ang mangyari sa pelikulang Squad Goals #FBois at maging daan para sumikat din ang mga baguhang artistang tampok sa pelikula.
Julian susubok uli kasama ang grupo, Ella biglang nawala sa eksena
Now, meet natin ang members of the Squad Goals #FBois.
Julian Trono, na 2009 pa nang maging host ng youth oriented show, Tropang Potchi. An Engineering student, Viva Films gave him the chance to star with Ella Cruz sa romantic comedy movie na Fangirl, Fanboy.
Bagama’t hinangaan sa pelikula ang pagiging parehong magaling na dancers nila ni Ella, they both failed to make it to stardom. Come to think of it. Bakit kaya waring nawala sa eksena ng showbiz si Ella?
Pareho namang popular sa showbiz ang parents ni Vitto Marquez. Dad niya ang former Mayor ng Parañaque City cum actor-comedian na si Joey Marquez. Mother naman niya si Alma Moreno, na in her time ay considered the sexiest star at confirmed dancing queen as well. Well, no wonder na magaling na dancer din si Vitto. He is a member of the popular dance group na Hashtags, and thus, is seen regularly in the daily noontime program, It’s Showtime.
Naging successful man daw si Vitto sa showbiz, it will not stop him from earning a college diploma. He is currently taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM).
A basketball player, too, he is varsity team captain and has thrice been voted MVP.
No need to tell you that Andrew Muhlach is half-brother ng sikat at magaling na actor na si Aga Muhlach.
With Jack Reid, nakababatang kapatid din ni James Reid, Andrew has appeared in the horror flick, Darkroom. They are two of the most admired members of Squad Goals, ani Andrew, dahil bukod daw sa guwapo nga siya, mahusay pa rin siyang magpatawa.
Jack admits, on the other hand, na dapat pang hasain niya ng kanyang pananagalog. Since he was born and grew up in Australia, he cannot yet speak Tagalog fluently.
Last but not the least in the group is Dan Huschka, who not only loves to dance but sing as well.
Born to a Filipino Mom and to German Dad, no need to tell you that he is good-looking. And he considers one of his assets, too, he speak Tagalog like a native. No wonder, since last year, nasa cast na si Dani ng Taddy Taddy Po, isang family comedy sa Sari-Sari channel.
Paulo at Aljur may matinding paghaharap
Both contract talents dati ng GMA 7, magkasamang uli sina Paulo Avelino at Aljur Abrenica, since they both are now Kapamilya.
Magkasama rin ang dalawa in one of the current trending series ng ABS-CBN, ang Asintado, co-starring them with Julia Montes, Lorna Tolentino, Noni Buencamino, plus of course, Shaina Magdayao.
Both of course, will find themselves in some scenes together. How intense the said scenes will be and when it will happen, abangan na lang daw, ani Paulo.
Asintado, of course, is directed by Onat Diaz and Lino Cayetano.
