Well, for him and his family. Hindi raw masyadong magarbo ang bahay. May pagka-modern pero heavy duty. Para nga naman safe sila from any calamities of any kind.

May two rooms daw sa third floor.

A mainstay of the noontime show, Eat Bulaga, nakatapos ng dalawang movies si Paolo. The first one, Trip Ubusan: The Lolas vs. Zombies, is now showing in theaters nationwide. Sa November 29 naman nakatakdang ipalabas ang Barbi, D’ Wonder Beki, where naman he co-stars with the original Barbi, Joey de Leon.

Asked how he feels na makakasabay ipalabas ng Barbi, D’ Wonder Beki ang supposed reunion movie nina Sharon Cuneta at Robin Padilla, co-starring pa man din sina Julia Barretto at Joshua Garcia, ang Unexpectedly Yours, Paolo quickly replied, “Well the unexpected could always happen. Sakaling parehong tumabo sa takilya ang dalawang pelikula.

“How wonderful, ‘pag nagkataon.”

Tony Reyes nga pala directs Barbi, D’ Wonder Beki, while Unexpectedly Yours has naman award-winning and box-office director Cathy Garcia at the helm.

Yes, the iconic singer whose iconic songs mostly his compositions, remain a big favorite to date, and don’t look now, pati ng millennials. He did not receive a salary while he was hosting the show, Nineteeners in the 60s, on ABS-CBN.

He was still in his teens and was a student at the Ateneo de Manila Universtiy. It was the late Pete Roa, first husband ng aktres na si Boots Anson-Roa, who eventually become his co-host sa Nineteeners, who offered him the job. Kumakanta-kanta na rin daw siya noon.

When his Dad daw learned about the offer, he told him and Pete, that he will allow him (Jose Mari) to do the job, provided hindi siya tatanggap ng suweldo.
Why so? We asked Jose Mari at his recent presscon para sa kanyang upcoming iconic concert titled The Music of Jose Mari, at the Solaire Theater on December 16. “Feeling ng father ko, kapag nakatikim na akong kumita, na, kahit papano, ay hindi naman pera pera lang, tatamarin na akong mag-aral.

“Kaya, papaano niya iiwan sa akin ang pamamahala ng kanyang negosyo?,” pahayag ni Jose Mari.

Jose Mari’s Dad is a sugar magnate from Iloilo. He has a sugar mill and a sugar refinery. Which, of which of course, ngayon, si Jose Mari na at ang ilan niyang anak ang namamahala.

Ganunpaman, he never took to his singing career daw as a mere sideline. He took it seriously as well.

Well, in his first live concert with ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of his inaanak, Louie Ocampo (Gerald Salonga, the original maestro of the orchestra is abroad), Jose Mari will perform several of his iconic songs kasama ang ilan niyang Christmas composition na hindi kumukupas : Christmas Is In Our Hearts, Christmas Children, and A Wish On Christmas Night, among others.

Naturally too, aawitin niya ang magaganda ring compositions niya tulad ng Please Be Careful With My Heart, A Love To Last, Please Can We Stop and Talk A While.

Don’t look now, but his guest artists include Jona, Bituin Escalante, Juris, Markki Stroem, Acapellago, Migs Jaleco, and Vocal Synergy.
