P30 milyong puslit na frozen chicken products, nakumpiska
MANILA, Philippines — Nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang nasa mahigit P30 milyon halaga ng mga puslit na agricultural at frozen chicken products sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) nitong Miyerkules.
Ang nasabat na illegal products ay naka-consigned sa Lycan Consumer Goods Trading at nakalagay sa limang 40-footer containers na naglalaman ng frozen chicken products.
Nabatid na kaagad na isinailalim sa 100% examination ang naturang shipment matapos makatanggap si Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-MICP (CIIS-MICP) Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Raniel Ramiro ng “derogatory information”.
Inaasahan namang kaagad na magpapalabas si Rosales ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) laban sa shipment, habang ang Lycan Consumer Goods Trading at broker nito ay sasampahan ng kaukulang kaso ng bureau. Anang BOC, ang naturang pinakahuling operasyon ay bahagi ng kanilang tuluy-tuloy na operasyon laban sa agricultural smuggling, kahit bago pa man isinumite ang report kay dating Senate President Tito Sotto III kung saan pinangalanan ang mga matataas na opisyal ng Customs bilang mga protektor ng agricultural smugglers.
“We need to act fast if we want to catch up to these groups. My standing order is to not delay the issuance of needed documents that will allow our agents to do their jobs well,” ayon kay Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, na kumondena sa pinakahuling smear campaign laban sa BOC.
