Maraming gustong sumama sa PBA sa East Asia Super League

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi pa man nagsisimula ay dumarami na ang mga liga at koponang nais sumali sa East Asia Super League kung saan isa ang PBA bilang pioneer leagues nito.

Ayon kay EASL CEO and co-founder Matt Beyer, sandamakmak ang tawag sa kanya kung paano makakasali sa pinakabagong international league matapos ang formal launch nito noong nakaraang buwan.

“People are paying attention to the concepts, not only in Asia, but all over the world,” ani Beyer. “It warmed the heart and encouraged me a lot because one of our objectives is to become one of the top 3 leagues in the world in basketball by 2025.”

Matapos maikasa ang 10-year partnership sa FIBA ay inanunsyo ng EASL noong nakaraang buwan ang tie-up sa mga Asian leagues na PBA, Japan B. League, Korean Basketball League, P. League+ ng Taiwan at Greater China.

Tigdalawang teams mula sa PBA, B. League at KBL at tig-isa naman mula sa Chinese Taipei at Hong Kong ang bubuo sa inaugural eight-team Season 1 ng EASL na  balak i-expand sa 16-teams sa Season 3.

Aarangkada ito sa Oktubre 2022 hanggang Pebrero 2023 tampok ang home-and-away format para sa tumataginting na $1 milyong pabuya sa grand champion.
