Cambodia SEA Games torch relay idaraos sa Tagaytay City sa Lunes
MANILA, Philippines — Idaraos sa Tagaytay City ang Philippine leg ng torch relay para sa Cambodia 32nd Southeast Asian Games sa Lunes.
Sinabi ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president at Tagaytay City Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na sinimulan ang torch relay noong Martes sa World Heritage Site Angkor Wat sa Siem Reap 45 araw bago ang SEA Games Opening Ceremony sa Mayo 5.
“The POC welcomes the Philippine leg of the torch relay, a solemn ceremony that formally signals Cambodia’s first-time hosting of the SEA Games,” wika ni Tolentino.
Gagawin ang torch relay sa Tagaytay City BMX and Skatepark malapit sa City Hall sa ganap na alas-7 ng umaga kung saan tatanggapin ni Tolentino at mga POC officials si Cambodia’s Ambassador to the Philippines Phan Peuv.
Dadalo rin sa event ang mga embassy representatives mula sa SEA Games member countries, national athletes, para athletes at Tagaytay City students.
Nagmula ang torch relay sa Cambodia kahapon patungong Vietnam bago dumiretso sa Pilipinas.
Bibiyahe naman ang torch relay sa Brunei, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar at Laos bago bumalik sa Cambodia sa Abril 27.
Pinamunuan nina Cambodia King Norodom Sihamoni at Prime Minister Hun Sen ang torch-lighting ceremony sa Angkor Wat temple.
Higit sa 11,453 athletes at officials ang inaasahan ng host country na lalahok sa SEA Games kung saan isasabak ng Pilipinas ang halos 800 atleta sa 608-event, 38-sport Cambodia Games na magtatapos sa Mayo 16.
Itinakda ng POC ang isang formal send off ceremony para sa Team Philippines sa Abril 15 sa Philippine International Convention Center.
