Diaz nag-donate ng weightlifting equipment sa AFP
MANILA, Philippines — Seryoso si Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo na makadiskubre ng mga susunod sa kanyang yapak.
Tumanggap kamakalawa ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng weightlifting equipment mula kay Diaz na isang Philippine Air Force Staff Sergeant.
“I’m happy and excited for the military weightlifters and other soldiers who want to try,” sabi ng tubong Zamboanga City weightlifter.
“I hope many Filipinos will try the sport and I will do my part together with my coach/husband to help spread and promote awareness in weightlifting,” dagdag nito.
Si Diaz-Naranjo ay kasalukuyang naka-assign sa Philippine Air Force Civil-Military Group sa Camp Jesus Villamor Airbase Gymnasium sa Pasay City.
Ang donasyon ay mula sa pakikipagtulungan ni Diaz kay Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas (SWP) president Monico Puentevella.
Hangarin nitong mai-promote ang weightlifting sa hanay ng mga AFP personnel at ng kanilang mga anak para makadiskubre ng mga susunod na world-class soldier-athletes.
