COPA magiging abala ngayong taon
MANILA, Philippines — Idaraos ng Congress of Philippine Aquatics, Inc. (COPA) ang 2nd leg ng Reunion Swim Challenge sa Agosto 27-28 sa Teofilo Yldefonso Swimming Pool sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Malate, Manila.
Ang nasabing event na bukas sa lahat ng individual, teams o clubs ay bahagi ng programa ng COPA, ayon kay Batangas Rep. Eric Buhain.
“Regardless of your affiliation COPA welcomes everybody with an open arms,” ani Buhain. “Isa lang naman ang interest natin at gusto nating mangyari na ito ay ang yumabong ang swimming.”
Ang Olympian at dating SEA Games record holder ay kabilang sa mga bumuo ng COPA noong 2020 kasama sina Chito Rivera, Darren Evangelista, Joel Esquivel at Richard Luna.
Ang COPA ay may mahigit ngayong 200 teams/clubs sa 11 clusters na binubuo ng 17 rehiyon sa bansa at may kabuuang 300 miyembrong coach at 3,500 sanctioned swimmers.
Bukod sa Reunion Swim Challenge ay magdaraos din ang COPA ng 1st Novice Swim Championship sa Setyembre 17-18; ang Reunion 3rd leg sa Oktubre 1-2; ang Reunion Swim Challenge Championship sa Oktubre 22-23; Sprint meet na may pagpapakilala sa SKINS Swim event sa Nobyembre 12-13 at ang Short Course Yuletide Swimming Championship sa Disyembre 10-11.
“After more than two years of inaction due to the pandemic, finally our young swimmers can now go back to the pool, enjoy the action once again and resume the club’s grassroots sports development program,” wika ni Buhain.
