BEST tankers humakot ng 30 ginto sa PNAG
MANILA, Philippines — Magarbong tinapos ng Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (BEST) ang kampanya nito tangan ang tumataginting na 30 ginto, 27 pilak at siyam na tansong medalya sa Philippine National Age-Group Championships na ginanap sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Manila.
Sa huling araw ng kumpetisyon, bumanat pa ang BEST ng 10 ginto, pitong pilak at dalawang tanso tampok ang dalawang ginto mula kay Filipino-British Heather White sa girls’ 14-15 50m backstroke (32.47) at 100m freestyle (1:00.02).
Nagdagdag din ng gintong medalya si Brent International School standout Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh sa girls’ 16-18 200m butterfly sa bendisyon ng impresibong 2:22.25.
Parehong winalis nina Mojdeh at White ang pitong gintong nakataya sa kani-kanyang dibisyon para tanghaling most bemedalled swimmers sa torneo.
Nakakuha rin ng gintong medalya sina Peter Dean (boys’ 14-15 50m backstroke, 29.95), Arriana Carandang (girls’ 11-13 50m backstroke, 33.98), Ruben White (boys’ 16-18 100m freestyle, 52.72), Ashby Canlas (boys’ 14-15 200m breaststroke, 2:35.44), Kristian Yugo Cabana (boys’ 11-13 200m butterfly, 2:34.75), Coby Rivilla (boys’ 14-15 200m butterfly, 2:19.96) at Nicholas Ivan Radovan (boys’ 16-18 200m butterfly, 2:10.94).
“The overall performance of BEST team was really overwhelming. Even coach Virgi was surprised every time they dive into that pool and register excellent times. I would like to thank coach Virgi for all his hardwork. I know he is more motivated to create programs that will uplift our swimmers,” ani BEST team manager Joan Mojdeh.
“The overall energy in PNAG was really amazing. I congratulate all the participants. They all did amazing and it was nice to see all the swimmers back in action. Swimmers really enjoyed competing again and it showed in their times how excited they all are,” dagdag ni Mojdeh.
