Mojdeh, Basa naka-ginto pa sa France
MANILA, Philippines — Humakot pa ang Pinoy tankers ng dalawang ginto, isang pilak at dalawang tansong medalya sa 10th Circle of Swimmers of Melun Val de Seine na ginanap sa Piscine de Melun swimming pool sa Melun, France.
Bumandera sa matikas na kampanya ng Pilipinas sina Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh at Julia Ysabelle Basa na humakot ng tig-isang gintong medalya sa kani-kanyang event.
Pinagreynahan ni Mojdeh ang women’s 16-17 100m butterfly event sa bendisyon ng 1:04.27 upang masiguro ang ginto habang nagkasya sina France bets France Louise Buannic-Guirriec sa pilak tangan ang 1:04.57 at Clara Pagnon sa tanso bitbit ang 1:05.72.
“We are very happy with the over all turnout of our campaign here in France. Last day was the hottest day since we came to France and this gave an extra edge to our team coming from a tropical country that is used to a humid weather. Our swimmers really gave their best effort and manage to add more to the medal count of the team,” ani Philippines BEST-Swim League Philippines team manager Joan Mojdeh.
Namayagpag naman si Julia Ysabelle Basa sa women’s 14-15 100m butterfly matapos magtala ng 1:11.13 para talunin sina silver medalist France Dania Oularbi (1:11.93) at bronze winner Diane Saisse (1:13.46) ng host country.
Bukod sa ginto, may pilak galing kay Hugh Antonio Parto sa men’s 15-16 100m butterfly (59.55) habang nakatanso naman sina Ivan Nicholas Radovan sa men’s 17-18 100m butterfly (58.11) at Yohan Mikhail Cabana sa men’s 100m backstroke (1:03.11).
“We will leave France in high spirits and medals for the Philippines. I am proud to say that we have well represented our country here in Europe. Hopefully we can go back next year,” ani Mojdeh.
