CEBU, Philippines — Bulahan gihapon ang mga Sugbuanong atleta nga sila si Margielyn Didal (skateboarding), Elreen Ann Ando (weightlifting) ug Kiyomi Watanabe (judo) bisan wala sila makakmit og medalya sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Kini gumikan kay ang Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ug ang MVP Sports Foundation ni business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan mopasidungog man sa tanang non-medalists gikan sa 19-man Team Philippines og P500,000 nga insentibo matag usa.

“The non-medalists in the Tokyo Olympics will receive incentives of P500,000 each,” matud pa niPOC President Rep. Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino in a statement.

“Everyone on Team Philippines in these ‘Golden Olympics’ deserve all the praises, and in this case, incentives, they need,” dugang pa ni Tolentino. “Qualifying for the Olympics is already that difficult, what more competing in the Games themselves."

"Yes, Elreen (Ando) is eligible for the P250,000 incentive, which is already approved by the PSC Board. Not only that, her coach will also receive P125,000," kompirma pa ni PSC commissioner Ramon Fernandez.
