Ramirez aasikasuhin ang 2022 budget ng PSC

MANILA, Philippines — Umuwi na kahapon si Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez matapos saksihan ang pagbuhat ni weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz sa kauna-unahang Olympic gold medal ng bansa.

Sa kanyang pagbabalik sa bansa ay aasikasuhin ni Ramirez ang pondo ng sports agency para sa susunod na taon kung kailan iniatras ang 31st Southeast Asian Games sa Vietnam.

Pinasalamatan ni Ramirez ang mga PSC officials at staff para sa pagsuporta sa kampanya ng Team Philippines sa Tokyo Olympics.

“As the country basks in the glory and joy of our first Olympic gold, allow me to take this moment to congratulate each one of you,” ani Ramirez sa mga PSC officials at employees. “You are as much part of this success as anybody else.”

Hindi rin nakalimutan ng PSC chief ang mga miyembro ng Executive Office, Congress, Senate, iba pang government agencies at ang private sector.

“We are now all witnessing the fruits of our labor from the time of our small agency’s inception in 1990 to the present, 31 years of service now brought us this exhilarating moment and onward march top sporting history,” wika ng 71-anyos na si Ramirez.

Kumpiyansa ang PSC head na may susunod pang Olympic gold medalist ang Pinas matapos si Diaz.

Umabante sa finals sina lady boxer Nesthy Petecio at pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena habang pupuntiryahin ni middlweight Eumir Felix Marcial ang semifinals berth ngayong tanghali.

Pasok din si gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo sa finals ng men’s vault habang nasa quarterfinals na si flyweight Carlo Paalam at nakatakda pang maglaro sina 2021 US Women’s Open champion Yuka Saso at Bianca Pagdanganan sa women’s golf sa susunod na linggo.
