Chinese coach ni Diaz mapapaso ang kontrata sa December 31
MANILA, Philippines — Umaasa si Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez na hindi iiwanan ni Chinese coach Gao Kaiwen si Olympic Games gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz.
Inaasahang aalukin si Gao ng mas malaking suweldo ng mga bansang gusto ring makakuha ng gintong medalya sa Olympics.
“The weightlifting world is now looking at coach Gao,” wika kahapon ni Ramirez sa Chinese mentor na tumulong kay Diaz para magreyna sa women’s 55-kilogram division ng Tokyo Olympics. “Mind you, his credentials now look brighter with Hidilyn’s success here.”
Magtatapos ang kontrata ni Gao sa PSC sa Disyembre 31 ng taong ito.
Si Gao ay sinusuwelduhan ng sports agency ng $2,500 kada buwan na maliit kung ikukumpara sa natatanggap ng mga foreign coaches sa ibang bansa.
“Compared to the other countries which offer as much as $10,000 a month for their athletes’ foreign coaches, there are no guarantees that coach Gao would be remaining with Hidilyn in case she returns to training for the Paris 2024 Olympics,” ani Ramirez.
